"I come in peace. Buzz Lightyearism." - Richard Fish

Last week's shoving match was just the beginning of John and Richard's escalating battles. When John accuses Richard of stealing his baseball mitt, the two wind up physically fighting over the glove. The next day in the staff meeting, the sarcastic barbs continue and John storms out when Richard calls him a lawn jockey. Once things settle down, Jackson announces his new client, Gloria (special guest Kelly Lynch). Gloria decided to make her law firm for women only, so she fired all her male employees - one of whom, a lawyer, is suing for sexual discrimination. Jackson wants a female to co-chair, and Ling is the only associate available, much to Richard's dismay.

John has retreated to his Unisex hideaway, but is startled to find Melanie in there waiting for him. She can tell something's bothering him and gets him to admit that it's Richard. Melanie suggests the two friends go to couples therapy and recommends a therapist.

In court, Jackson faces off against Renee, who is representing the plaintiff in the discrimination suit. Jackson argues that the average male thinks about sex all the time, therefore creating a distraction in the workplace less common with female employees. To prove his point, he asks the plaintiff if he ever fantasized about Gloria. Renee objects, but it's not long before she's the object of Jackson's argument. He points to both Renee and Ling as other examples of "distractions." As soon as court goes into recess, Jackson feels the wrath of Renee, Ling and the unattractive female judge who didn't appreciate being left out of his courtroom display. But despite Renee's protest over being objectified, she can't help being charmed by Jackson's engaging smile. An attraction that is not lost on Ling.

Elsewhere, Ally finds herself in the middle of Elaine and Mark's newest spat. Mark is totally jealous of Elaine's sweaty attraction to Jackson. So much so that he breaks up with her! Elaine admits that she's not used to being in a relationship that's not based on sex, so she has a hard time remembering to respect Mark's feelings. (Put that in the "lamest excuses" column.) Elaine agrees to try to reign in her overtness, but Mark keeps a close eye on her - especially when Jackson is around.

Meanwhile, John and Melanie have a tough time convincing Richard to go to therapy. He doesn't think it's right for men to share feelings. Whenever his dad wanted Richard to know he loved him, he'd say "Momboquette," which referred to their favorite pitcher for the Red Sox. Finally, Richard agrees to go. The therapist (special guest Fred Willard) is kinda cheesy but gets Richard and John to admit that their current relationship worries are translating into tension between them. Both are facing the harsh reality that their current girlfriends may not be everlasting, which means they'll only have each other for companionship. A scary prospect indeed! When Jackson hears that the jury has asked a question regarding his client, he fears he may lose. He asks Elaine to draw up a settlement contract…which becomes her biggest challenge, knowing that Mark is watching to see if she starts sweating like a dog in heat! She keeps it down to one drip, but Mark is still jealous. Fortunately, a verdict comes in before things get any hotter. The jury finds in favor of the plaintiff, but they don't award him a ton of money. Afterward, Jackson apologizes to Renee for his earlier tactics and asks her out for a drink. She accepts, clearly smitten.

Back in the office, John shares his secret room with Richard. While the two friends sip martinis and smoke cigars, they discuss their women woes. Richard thinks he's losing Ling. John isn't sure Mel is right for him, since she's against marriage. One thing is for sure: Like it or not, they'll always have each other. Momboquette.
