Ally's new client could spell disaster for her and Larry. Plus, Fish is asked to negotiate a same-sex marriage, and Nelle goes Latin!

Ally bolts up in bed, yelling at Larry for dumping her! Pig just left a note! Huh? Just a nightmare. Later, in the office, Ally discovers a 7-year-old camped out in her office. He wants her to represent him when he sues his divorced parents for emotional distress. Not only is he adorable, and totally up on divorce law, he's, uh, Larry's kid. Crafty little fellow hopped a plane from Detroit without telling anyone. First, Larry freaks out, then when he hears about the lawsuit idea, he just feels bad. While he talks to Sam's mom on the phone, Sam asks Ally if her biological clock is all "ticked out." Cute kid. And wouldn't you know he's staying for a few days to check out his dad's life. So of course they're shacking up at Ally's place.

Nelle's new client is her ex-twist instructor. The hot Latin named after a beer (Sam Adams) is suing his ex-dance partner/ex-lover for stealing his moves. He wants them back for an upcoming competition, pronto! Meanwhile, Richard's favorite cross-gender babe, Cindy McAuliff, shows up. She wants to get married…which, of course, is not legal since she's technically male. Who better to fight the good fight than the ultimate homophobe? Bygones. Mark runs into Cindy in the Unisex and tries congratulating her - but it sounds a lot like sour grapes instead of good wishes. He's convinced she chose Cage/Fish just to rub it in his face and make him jealous. Typical guy…it's all about him! In court, Richard tries the "talk until they rule in my favor" technique that he has perfected. Despite his logical reasoning that banning same-sex marriage is bigoted and wrong, it doesn't work. Surprisingly, Mark pops up from the back of the courtroom and asks to address the court. No one is more shocked than Cindy when Mark tells the judge what a wonderful, beautiful woman Cindy is and that she deserves to be happy as much as anyone else. Unfortunately, while the judge agrees with Richard (shocking!), he can't change the laws banning same-sex marriage.

After hours, everyone's living la vida loca! Sam Adams has inspired salsa fever. In the courtroom, however, he's inspired his ex to equate sex with Sam with "creative spark." She contends that without their love affair (and their frequent, feisty breakups), he wouldn't have had his dance epiphanies; therefore, they are just as much hers as his. The judge orders that the two perform together so that everyone can witness this "collaboration" firsthand. Nelle, still reeling from the fact that Sam and Inez were lovers, is not thrilled when court reconvenes with a live band and heats up with their fiery, sensual performance.

After spending some time with Sam, Larry realizes just how much he needs to be in his son's life. Ally feels the same way and encourages Larry to go back to Detroit - temporarily. Larry is hesitant to leave Ally, but knows that it is what's best for Sam. He asks her to come along, but she tells him he has to do this alone. (Is this the new extra-strength Ally or what?) The thing is, Larry is really bad with goodbyes and tells Ally he just wants to leave. Shades of Ally's earlier nightmare!

Back in Nelle's nightmare, Sam has decided to reunite with his ex for the upcoming competition. Their performance in court convinced him that together they have a better chance of winning. Nelle says good luck and adios, muchacho! Richard, meanwhile, decides that as the theoretical captain of his own ship (the law firm) he can provide a wedding ceremony. He marries Cindy and her man right in the office! At the reception, Ally is understandably bummed out. When the band strikes her theme song, "Tell Him," she takes it as a sign. Sure enough, Larry and Sam are waiting outside for a proper goodbye. Ally walks home playing the Larry highlight reel in her head and arrives to find a custom-made snowman at her door, with a note that says simply, "I'll be back."
